You don't have to anymore. But here's why you probably should if you want more bids and a higher sale price.

One of the most common questions I get right now is whether sellers still have to pay the buyer’s agent. The answer is no, you don’t have to. But the real question is whether you should, and my answer to that is yes.

Here’s why. The way I set things up, we put your house on the market for over a week and then go for the highest and best bids. When you do that and you’re willing to pay the buyer’s agent, you’re going to get way more bids for way more money. It’s that straightforward. Paying the buyer’s agent opens the door to the widest possible pool of buyers, and when more buyers are competing for your home, the price goes up.

“If you're willing to pay that buyer's agent, you're going to get way more bids for way more money.”

It’s a smart investment in the outcome of your sale, not an extra cost. The money you spend covering the buyer’s agent comes back to you in the form of stronger offers and a higher final price.

If you have questions about this or you’d like to sit down and get a full picture of what your home would actually sell for, including a breakdown of all your expenses, give me a call. I’d love to talk it through with you. Call or text me at (616) 532-7200, email me at larrymartinteam@gmail.com, or visit freegrandrapidshomesearch.com.
